A learner centered classroom means that the teacher along with the student decides which goals are needed to be met together. I like the idea of "co-determining" together which skills need to be met and how they will be met through evidence.

Completing my digital presentation, I have learned that I still have a lot to learn. As a lifetime learner myself, infusing goal setting into my students brains was not something new to them or I. Results showed that goal setting does have a positive impact on learning. The new questions that did arise were: 1. How can schools support that technology is available to all students at home? 2. Is technology really necessary to the success of an elementary student?
The study suggested that no matter the medium of goal setting, whether digitally or on paper, it still has an impact on student learning. The next steps for this study would be to expand it in a longer time frame. Two weeks was not long enough to see a significant change from students pre and post test. Although this was a challenging semester, and creating a research question and writing a report in the first semester was very overwhelming, I did learn what self discipline is, and am very happy to have a supportive cohort . |
