703 Logo Making

I thought creating a logo would be easier than it really is. There are so many tiny technical things to consider in order to make my logo be unique. I'm sure these multi-million companies had given  lot of money for a simple logo. I had an idea in my mind of what I'd like to create. But as soon as I began with Canva, I went so many different directions that I got confused. Not only that, but Canva would pop up prices for me to pay. I spent a lot of time on that site for nothing. I'm sure there are many people that found Canva helpful, I found it frustrating.

After taking a break, I logged onto Logojoy, claiming it's free and easy. All the selections are pretty basic, nothing spectacular. I spent some time trying to incorporate my first vision of a logo. I selected one that wasn't too exciting, but a start. Then I was ready to save it, and it asked to pick type of purchase plan. WHAT?!? I'm not investing in a mediocre logo. So I had to start all over with another site. Logojoy didn't bring me too much joy, I hope the site gave others some joy though.

The third site I used was logomakr. I was able to create a simple logo for free but the quality is not so great. I also had trouble saving it, I'm unsure of which program is compatible for me to save under in my google drive. Currently it's saved as a pdf and when I try to open it, it asks for me to select a  program. I don't know, this is a bit more complicated than I hoped for. I'm better off hand drawing a picture and uploading it myself. Good luck logo makers!

Logojoy didn't bring much joy your way. I started with that site since I used in class last time we met but I ended up feeling the same as you. The logos to me look very modern but at the same time very simple like you mentioned. I also came across all the different options of icons and graphics to use in Canvas which made me feel overwhelming but I then found one and decided to stick to that for now as I am sure it will change later. But the fact that we have to pay all this money is absurd to me and frustrating. On the other hand I am excited to see everyone's logos and how they are going to develop over the course of the semester.

I tried logomakr and really liked it, I agree the resolution won't be high but I hope it will be enough for the website. Maybe I should explore a few other sites to see if I can recreate it with a better quality. I had also thought about just drawing it myself and then scanning it as an image but I like that there are so many options to play with online before making a final choice. I'm looking forward to some feedback in class to move on to my next step.
